Sustainable rural development through the application of science and technology
Dear Friends and well wishers,
We are one of the very few science and technology NGO's in India which are more than 50 years old and our longevity itself demonstrates our work and contribution. A souvenir briefing the key milestones in our 50 year long journey can be found here.
One of our achievements is to do high quality research and development on a shoestring budget. For instance, we have found that every rupee of funds spent on our projects generated revenue of roughly 150 rupees in rural areas! We call this the romance of innovation.

AGRICULTURE

The cotton/sorghum hybrids developed in the 70s were planted on 1.2 lakh acres of land in that decade, fetching farmers 1 crore of extra total yearly profit
RENEWABLE ENERGY

|
130 biomass power plants totalling to a capacity of 1000 MW were set up across India by IREDA in 2000 based on our work on energy self-sufficient talukas
ANIMAL HUSBANDRY
|
|
Our work in animal husbandry has benefitted more than 10000 shepherds and farmers over the past 24 years
SUSTAINABILITY

|
Published articles (more than 100) and delivered seminars/talks on sustainable development (with total attendees more than 35000)

Most of NARI's work has only been possible through the donations by generous agencies and people like you. Any amount of donation is welcome. Our goal is to gather Rs. 4 crores for the institute corpus. Though even the smallest of your donations will add to the kitty and take us a long way!

Further refine and propagate technologies developed by us namely, Solar Water Purifier, Lanstove and Sweet sorghum syrup

HUSBANDRY

Continue our work in disseminating goat/sheep semen straws and conducting artificial insemination
WORKSHOPS
AND TRAINING

Conduct workshops and training sessions in agriculture, renewable energy, animal husbandry and sustainability

NARI has a permanent income tax exemption under section 35(i)(ii) of the I.T. Act (Notification No. – 179/2007). All your donations to NARI are 100% (for individuals) and 150% (for companies) tax exempted.
