Dr. Nandini Nimbkar, President
Dr. Nimbkar was one of the directors of the institute from 1984 to 1990 and has held the position of Permanent President since July 1990. She has nearly 30 years of experience in agricultural research. She received her B.Sc. in Botany from University of Pune in 1974 and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agronomy from University of Florida, Gainesville, USA in 1978 and 1981 respectively. In 1981, she returned to India to work as a research scientist in the Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) in Phaltan, Maharashtra.
Dr. Anil Rajvanshi, Director
Dr. Rajvanshi is currently the Director and Hon. Secretary of NARI. He has more than 38 years of experience in renewable energy R&D and rural development. He did his B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from I.I.T. Kanpur in 1972 and 1974 respectively. He received his Ph.D. in Mech. Engg. from University of Florida, Gainesville, USA in 1979. He was also on the faculty of University of Florida (Dept. of Mechanical Engineering) for 2.5 years before returning to India in 1981 to work at NARI.
Dr. Chanda Nimbkar, Director, AHD
Dr. Nimbkar has been serving as the director of the Animal Husbandry Division (AHD) of NARI since 1998. She joined AHD after completing her M. Sc in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Edinburgh, U.K. in 1990. She later recieved her Ph.D. in genetic improvement of Indian Deccani sheep from University of New England, NSW, Australia in 2006. She has more than 28 years of experience in animal breeding, applied research in quantitative genetics and livestock production systems management.
